How did you get your sexy body back after your baby was born? How long did it take? I want to get back in the swing of dancing maybe 3 months after my baby boy is born. I have to admit though, I have seen some not so good looking new mommies trying to return to work. It was not pleasant at all. I am curious too, is all your endurance and muscle stamina out the window right after having a baby? I am almost 8 months and I have trouble catching my breathe going up and down the 3 flights of stairs in my building. I used to pull double shifts and was beginning to go poll tricks. I have read in articles online that it takes most women a year to get their figure back--- I want to speed this up if at ANY way possible!!! How long does it take for your boobs to go back to normal? I used to be a 32B right now I am a 36 E! I hear they engorge after child birth too. If I am NOT breastfeeding with they go down within a month or two? I really hope my feet haven't grown either. I can't really tell right now, because I have been wearing snow boots, but I really don't want to big bigger than a size 9. All the cute shoes in the stores are 7-8 1/2 lol. I am pretty much convinced I will live off Slimfast and celery, but I want to know how everyone else did it!!! Thanks! |

akes you wish you thought nicer thoughts about the other girls in the dressing room, huh? I've been there. Every woman is different, and returning is the same. You get breathless because at eight mo's prego your lungs are constricted, and the extra blood flow makes it more of a transport for the oxygen. Lunges will be your friend. Don't be stupid like me and try to do crunches right away, you will split the stomache mussels and it takes years to get it back after you do that. Best exercise is walking, uphill, starting two weeks after you deliver, 3-4 if you get a spinal. Breast feed and the weight melts off like butter till the last 10 pounds of reserve, then that comes off w/extra right after you quit. The more you focus on weight LOSS the harder it is to lose it, instead focus on fitness. Good luck and congrats, you'll get your sexy back, no worries. |

one more, get the support old lady pantys that go up to your bra almost for after baby, the extra support helps the euter. get back into place better.

my son is just turning six months and I have yet to back... I will be in June. I had started off doing the hip hop abs...what a waste. Right now my boobs are looking better than after pregnancy but not stage ready. Ive started doing push ups and chest presses w/ weights. I can definitely feel the muscles working. Hope they work fast by June...Slimfast...hmm...didn't think of that one. Worth a shot though! Good luck. Oh, Don't worry the baby is just putting more pressure on that area as it grows...(hey he has to make room some way!!) You'll be breathing normally in no time! But to relieve it, take a break and deep breath after every flight

I have three babies. I had all of them after I started dancing. Seven yr old, five yr old and the youngest is 8 months on the 14th. I am already back to pre pregnancy weight and have been for over a month now. You can't tell I had babies. I did not breast feed. My #1 advice.. wrap your belly with a giant ace bandage as soon as you get home from the hospital and keep it on as much as possible. Same with the boobs. Super supportive bra. Treat these areas of your body as if you just had cosmetic surgery that needs compression garments to 'shape' them. As far as losing the weight goes, the slimfast is a good idea, but it's going to be hard. You're going to be recovering from giving birth (a big deal) and you'll be hungry and need energy. Lots of water. Flush the water weight out of you. You won't have much time to eat with a newborn so fast snacks are the way to go. If you don't already, learn to love fruits and veggies. Yogurt rocks. If you don't keep junkie food around you'll be less likely to eat it. Good luck with your lil' baby!! |

Yeah Ive seen mommies coming back waaaaaaay too soon, one girl was even still bleeding! Tragedy. I breastfed, not to lose weight quickly, but because of the health benefits to me and both my girls. It does take A TON of calories out of you, AND another plus is it forces you to eat healthy, so that you properly nourish your lil one. Id go that route to lose the baby weight faster. Also, try to stay as (safely) active as you can during the rest of your pregnancy. Walk daily, yoga, stretch....All things I did. (I also danced as long as I could becuase I was single mom payin bills on my own, so I tried to hide it as long as possible, so I guess that kept me from putting on too much weight also) (<--- dont do that) So try to stay as fit as you can now without hurting yourself, dont put on a ton of weight, only what is recommended to keep you and baby healthy, and eat right. Dont starve yourself after baby, esp if you breastfeed. With both of my girls, nobody could tell that I just gave birth. I dont have stretch marks, and my abs were showing within a week of giving birth. I owe that mostly to breastfeeding I think, and good eating habits and staying active. Good luck with the lil guy! |

Please don't hate on me, I wear a size 5 1/2 in ninewest shoes. I have a friend who rocks a size 4. She gets the best bargains on designer shoes from high end shops because , well, most of the rich ladies aren't that size. She's got $1K shoes for as low as $350! I hate on her, lol! But sometimes I can't find cute shoes because most are 7 and 8's. |

I am actually due this wednesday! Being induced. Ive managed to get absolutley no stretch marks so that has been a god send! But I have already stored my cabinets with slimfast. I cant stand the women that complain about having baby weight on like a year later....its like are you serious?? By that point its not baby weight it's lack of self control. Sorry for the bluntness

I think you can definitely lose the weight within six months but your body might not ever go back to what it once was. You also have to wait for the skin to tighten back up sometimes. I got back in shape but my body is different now. My hips actually are smaller than they were before I had my son which I think is just bizarre, but oh well... I also breastfed and I'm not crazy about my boobs. Other people seem to think they look fine but I remember how they used to look and it bothers me. You can definitely get back in shape again and look awesome but don't beat yourself up if you don't look exactly the same. Some women seem to bounce right back and others are changed. You'll definitely look hot again if you work at it though, lol, I just know that I've been disappointed that I can't get back to *exactly* what I was and I've seen other women struggle with that too. |

Well I am almost a year post partum and have just started to really get my figure back. But I was lazy I only really started working out a couple months ago and I ate like crap for a while. My shape is coming back fast though with working out.

I had my second daughter on the third. I ate entirely too much and completely regret it now! I still have 20 lbs to lose and have a wedding to go to in two weeks! Ugh. After my first daughter I breastfed and couldn't drop the weight. I also didn't eat healthy and mainly had carbs. But once DH came back from Iraq I buckeled down and worked out and ate healthy and the weight came off. But I had to lose an extra five lbs to look like I did before. So now I'm having a coffee and shake fore breakfast and chicken salads for lunch and dinner. I don't like a lot of veggies but I plan on training myself by incorporating them slowly and cutting out all the sugar. I'm hoping this won't screw up my metabolism like I've done so many times in the past. I'm just walking until my post partum check up though. Then I have a pole at home and am going crazy and I want to start jogging. I also want to try the 30 day shred everyone raves about and then my DH wants me to try the Insanity DVDs. They look like they would KILL me though! Anyway, good luck! And congrats on the baby! |

as tough as it is, let your body heal, if you plan to breastfeed make sure you are eating properly so your baby and your body can get all the nutrition you need..the window of time your baby is breastfeeding is so important ..if you aren't breastfeeding you still need proper nutrition..don't push yourself too much. I know that feeling of wanting to be back in shape but that precious amount of time you have while your baby is young is gone so quickly..and believe me I DO understand wanting to get back to work and feeling sexy again. But you have plenty of time. I didnt start stripping until I was 38. Had two kids..my last one was born two years ago, it took me ohhh about two years to get the weight off. I was still five pounds over what I wanted to be when I started dancing and it came off pretty quick. Balance..perseverance..patience.

One word: Breastfeeding! I was back on the pole by the time my baby was two months old and NOBODY could tell I'd had a baby. I had no flab, I was skinnier than I was before I had the baby and my boobs were HUGE! It's great! lol. Although, I may have just gotten insanely lucky as my mother says I'm a freak of nature. Before I got pregnant, I was 132 lbs. When my baby was born, I was 187 lbs. By the time my baby was 2 months old, I was 128 lbs. I thought I was dying but my doc said I was fine and perfectly healthy. |

I agree! I went back to work bartending at the club at 3 1/2 weeks, and started dancing again around 6 weeks post. I danced until I was about 6 1/2 months along then bartended till 7 hrs before I went into labor. I think that was part of the reason why I lost weight and toned back up so quickly, was because I didn't quit working. Hell my last shift before I had her ended at 3am and I went into a decent labor around 6am, and waited to go to the hospital till 9am, and delivered at 11:37am, lol! I still went to the gym and exercised the whole pregnancy (with Dr.'s blessing), and bounced back quickly between that and the breastfeeding. I too weighted less post baby than I did before getting pregnant, but only by a pound, lol. But then again I went from a 34D to a 34EE! ![]() ![]()

YES this works. However, my son is 4 months old and won't let me work out for 30 minutes... so I got barry's bootcamp, and I run at least 4 miles a week. I had a C-section and my dreaded shelf is almost gone! I only breastfed for 1 week. pretty much eat right, bust ass working out, wear support garments, and you will see results much sooner than my 4months. |
